Michter's Bundle - 2022 10 Year Rye, Sour Mash, Straight Rye and Small Batch Bourbon
Renowned for rye – America’s oldest whiskey variety – since the earliest days of our history, we take the production of Michter’s US1 Kentucky Straight Rye extremely seriously. Our Michter’s US1 Kentucky Straight Rye is made from select American rye grain that is sheared to maximize the extraction of flavor from the grain. Ideal neat or in cocktails, every bottle comes from a single barrel – a unique attribute reflecting our extraordinary commitment to offering Kentucky Straight Rye whiskey of the absolute highest quality at every level of the Michter’s range. Michter’s US1 Kentucky Straight Rye is also available with personalized Fort Nelson Select labeling at Michter’s Fort Nelson Distillery.
Michter's American Whiskey Unlike Bourbon or Rye, which, by definition, must be aged in new oak barrels, our US 1 Unblended American Whiskey is aged in a way that utilizes bourbon-soaked barrels to achieve a rich and unique flavor profile. In late 2013, Master Distiller Willie Pratt agreed to re-release our US 1 Unblended American Whiskey after a nearly three-year absence from the market, deeming it “just right” and “the best it’s ever been.” Crucially, our US 1 Unblended American Whiskey never contains grain neutral spirits – hence its “unblended” distinction.
Michter's US*1 Small Batch Bourbon. Michter's small-batch bourbon is named after a former 'oldest distillery in the USA' and is currently wowing the UK bar scene. Sweet, fruity, and spicy, it packs in plenty of flavors.
Michter’s Small Batch Sour Mash is rich and spicy, this sour-mash whiskey has an abundance of cinnamon, butter, and nutty notes, along with a hint of black pepper to freshen things up.
Strait Rye Renowned for rye, America’s first whiskey, since our founding in 1753, we take production of every barrel of Michter’s Rye very seriously. Michter's US-1 Rye is made from select American rye grain that is sheared to enable the saturation of more flavor during fermentation. It is then aged in a heated warehouse. This premium rye has hints of light spice, black pepper, marmalade and plum, spicy grain and light caramel.
Michter's 10 Year Rye After Master Distiller, Willie Pratt decided that a batch ready to ship wasn't ready to bottle, he left it to mature a little further for another whole year, whilst fans and retailers waited. What resulted was a new bottling, released at a nice 92 percent proof, which was very much worth the wait. This batch is surprisingly fruity for whiskey that's spent over 10 years in oak. With only a small amount of spicy char notes and instead the smooth texture of cinnamon and baking spices, this is a truly delicious sip.
